Past resonates through present in many ways — through thoughts, dreams, and memories. Passing moments leave footprints on the sands of time, and the world of poetry is no exception. The words of legendary Urdu poets, long gone, continue to echo — still fresh, still powerful.

Virasat – The Legacy of Legends, released by Times Music in 2020, is my humble tribute to those timeless poets.
It is an effort to musically rekindle the poetic brilliance of master wordsmiths whose verses are celebrated in literary circles but have rarely reached audiences through music.

After my 2008 album Ahteraam – A Tribute to Legendary Poets (T-Series), which featured the iconic names of Ghalib, Meer, Momin, Daagh, Zafar, Ibrahim Zauq, and Amir Meenai, I felt a desire to explore other great poets — those whose works are rich in language, depth, and feeling, but not yet familiar to ghazal audiences in sung form.

💭 Why Virasat?

These verses were chosen not for popularity, but for their depth, elegance, and literary value. In many cases, they had never been presented in musical form before. I felt it was important to bring these voices into today’s listening spaces — while staying faithful to their original spirit.

This album is not just about music. It is about preserving and celebrating a literary tradition — a heritage (virasat) that belongs to all of us who cherish the beauty of language and expression.

Saregama India ltd. to release Ghazal album "Siyahat- a Journey through emotions" by Shishir Parkhie

Saregama India ltd., formerly The Gramophone Company of India (H.M.V) will be releasing the latest Ghazal album by Shishir Parkhie titled SIYAHAT- A journey through emotions. All eight Ghazals have been composed & sung by Shishir Parkhie & the poet is Koshish. The album would be released worldwide in digital & audio CD format on June 21st, 2013. Bhala Mane Bura Mane penned by Aninda K. Chakraborty ‘Koshish’ is a romantic reflection of the delicate harmony of love. The poignant paradox of desire and devotion, presence and pursuit, pleasure and pain, is expressed through the voice of a yearning heart.


Aa Chandni Bhi penned by Dr. Bashir Badr is an ode to the euphoria of love. As moonlight bears mute witness, the forlorn lover spends sleepless nights in separation. The delirium of desire creates an intoxicated spirit of memories of the pleasant moments of union.

Dastak Hai Ki penned by Shahid Kabir glorifies the magical experience of love as seen through the heart of a lover in the trance of ecstasy. Lost in love, the lover feels the presence of the beloved in every longing breath and in the vibrations of each passing moment.

Thi Gar Aane Mein (Nazm) by Jaun Elia celebrates different seasons of love.It wonderfully communicates how in spite of all its laments, love is still a precious & endearing emotion. In spite of all the pain it brings, love is always welcomed in all its unique unique ways of manifestation.

Ek Ladki hai by Vilas Pandit is a fitting description of power and vulnerability of love-Incomplete yet infallible, pure yet so latent, peaceful yet perturbing, love is the perfect experience of calm and chaos in every moment of existence.

Kamaal-E- Ishq hai  by Majaaz Lucknawi is an exuberant exposition of ecstasy, an uninhibited acceptance of indulgence in all that is related to love.  

Shak Mein Saare by Ghalib Ayaz is a depiction of the ambiguity of emotions. The celebration of love is so evident and yet so latent. On side of a heart in love wants to boldly exhibit the beloved, while the other wants the expression to be subtle, subdued and secretive. And yet, love finds a way to express itself for the world to see.

Tere Ishq Ki penned by the legendary Muhammad Iqbal is a reflection of the supreme power of love. There is nothing more enchanting or precious than love. Lovers are prepared to relinquish even the rights of heaven for a glimpse of the beloved. The ecstasy of love often drives lovers to impulsive insolence. Even then, who wants to refrain from this intoxicating indulgence.

Press conference on release of Ghazal album "Roomaniyat" was held in Nagpur at Cream Corner Restaurant, Ramdaspeth. Dharmendra Bandwar, owner of Cream Corner introduced the artists & thereafter Dr. Manoj Salpekar briefed the Media persons on the making of Roomaniyat. The album released by Mystica Music was completely produced in Nagpur. Shailesh Dani who has done the Keyboard programming, Sound Design & Music arrangement for "Roomaniyat" described about the various recording facilities available in Nagpur.

Roomaniyat- Soul Stirring Ghazals of Love & Longing by Shishir Parkhie released.

An audio CD with soul stirring ghazals of love, longing and romanticism titled "Roomaniyat" by renowned vocalist Shishir Parkhie was recently launched worldwide by Mystica Music. Shishir Parkhie is a noted composer & singer from the Orange City & this is his third Ghazal album after the earlier successful releases  " Ahteraam"& "Once More Ghazals" which were also released worldwide on T-Series. Like in his earlier albums, Shishir has himself composed all the nine tracks of "Roomaniyat" as well. The works of classic & contemperory poets from both sides of the borders, thoughtfully compiled from the vast galaxy of Urdu poets have been woven in tranquil compositions by Parkhie for an unique listening pleasure.
